Every January musicians converge on Harrietville for a week of intensive workshops run by the Whitehorse Orchestra. As a grand finale, the Harrietville Big Band performs a concert at the Harrietville Hotel Motel, which is always a rollicking good time.
Harrietville was established as a mining settlement in 1852, and remnants of this history are scattered around town.
