Hotel/Bistro

The "Redgum" Bar features a collection of alpine artifacts. The bar hosts a collection dating from the late 1800s through to early and mid 1900s. There are Australian down hill skis from the 1950s, which were used at Mt Buffalo and lovingly known as planks, together with timber cross-country skis made in Finland and tennis racket-style snowshoes.

A must to see are two original maps from the first atlas of Victoria by Hiscock dating back to 1874 featuring the Ovens and Gippsland districts, a set of 1920s timber skis as they would have been carried with timber spreaders, clamps and blocks note the stocks made from tree branches hang from the ceiling.

Harrietville's history of trout fishing is not forgotten, with old cane fly rods, fish baskets and stuffed fish. The Redgum Bar featuring solid red gum tops with early 20th century sleds, ski boots, ice skates and snowboards on display, gives it a distinctly alpine feel.
